Vedic vs. Western astrology

There are two major astrological systems. Western astrology (the kind behind Aries, Taurus, Gemini in newspaper horoscopes) uses the tropical zodiac — based on the seasons, with Aries starting at the March equinox. Vedic astrology (Jyotish) uses the sidereal zodiac — based on the actual positions of constellations. Because the Earth's axis wobbles over time (precession), the two systems have drifted about 23–24 degrees apart, so your sun sign in Vedic astrology is often one sign behind your Western sun sign. Most Indians practicing astrology use the Vedic system; Western horoscopes in English-language media use the tropical system. If you've always read about being a Scorpio, your Vedic chart may show Libra.

Kundli, Horoscope, and Compatibility

The Kundli tab builds a birth chart — a map of where the Sun, Moon, and planets sat across the 12 zodiac signs and houses at the exact moment and place of your birth. Enter your date, time, and place of birth; the time matters a lot, since even a few minutes can shift your rising sign (Lagna), which Vedic astrology treats as being as significant as your sun sign. The Horoscope tab gives daily, weekly, and monthly readings based on your moon sign (Rashi) — the sign Vedic tradition weights more heavily than the sun sign for everyday predictions. Compatibility runs Kundli matching (Guna Milan), scoring two people's charts across 8 traditional factors (Ashtakoota) out of a possible 36 points; 18 or above is generally considered an acceptable match.

Numerology and Birth Number

Enter your full name and date of birth in the Numerology tab to get your life path, destiny, and soul numbers — derived from the letters of your name and the digits of your birth date, reduced down using standard numerology rules. The Birth Number tab does something narrower: your Moolank, calculated purely from the day you were born, said to reveal your core personality traits independent of your full numerology profile.

Tarot, Moon Sign, and Chinese Zodiac

The Tarot tab draws from the Major Arcana in three spread options — a single card for a quick read, a Past/Present/Future three-card spread, or a full five-card spread. Moon Sign calculates your Rashi from your birth date alone (no time or place needed), and Chinese Zodiac works out your animal sign and its associated traits from the same input. Both are quick, single-field lookups compared to the full Kundli, which needs precise birth time and location.

Lucky Numbers

Generates a personalised set of numbers from your name and birth date — choose 3, 5, 7, or a 6-number lottery-style set. It's derived the same way numerology derives other personal numbers, just packaged as a number list rather than a personality reading.

Common use cases

Kundli matching before marriage: Comparing prospective partners' charts is still a serious step for many Indian families, even ones that don't follow astrology day-to-day.

Naming a child: Traditional practice picks a starting syllable for a baby's name based on their nakshatra (lunar mansion) at birth — derived from the moon's position, which the Kundli tab surfaces.

Quick curiosity checks: Moon sign, Chinese zodiac, and lucky numbers need only a birth date, making them the fastest tabs to try without digging up exact birth time and location.

Daily rituals: Checking your Horoscope tab each morning, or pulling a single tarot card as a quick reflection prompt before starting the day.

Tips

For the Kundli tab, use the exact time from a birth certificate if you have it — India has a single time zone, so no conversion is needed for births within the country. Without an accurate birth time, rising-sign and house-based readings will be approximate at best.

Nakshatras (the 27 lunar mansions) don't have a direct Western parallel but are central to Vedic astrology — they influence which moon-sign and naming readings you'll see.

Limitations

None of these nine readings are predictive science. The Kundli's planetary positions and house cusps are simplified, indicative approximations built for fun — not calculated from a real astronomical ephemeris — so treat every chart as a light-hearted starting point, not a precise instrument. Tarot, numerology, lucky numbers, and the Chinese zodiac are traditional interpretive frameworks, not empirically verified predictions. Use them for cultural, traditional, or reflective purposes, and make major life decisions on practical grounds rather than any single reading here — including a "good" compatibility score, which on its own says nothing about whether two people are actually compatible.
