1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using OurTools.in ("the site," "the service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the site.

These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Akash, the individual operating OurTools.in from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India. Use of this site is entirely voluntary and free of charge.

2. Description of Service

OurTools.in provides 55+ free online tools including PDF editors, image processors, video utilities, text tools, calculators, QR code generators, and other browser-based utilities. The tools are provided at no cost to users and require no account registration.

The defining feature of this service is that most tools run entirely in your browser — your files are processed locally on your device and never transmitted to our servers. A limited number of video processing tools use a server-side API for operations that cannot be performed client-side; these tools are labeled accordingly, and files processed through them are deleted immediately after download.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any guarantees of uptime, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. See Sections 7 and 8 for full warranties and liability information.

3. User Responsibilities

When using OurTools.in, you agree that you are responsible for:

• Ensuring you have the legal right to process any files you use with this site's tools (for example, you own the content, have a license, or the content is in the public domain)
• Using the tools only for lawful purposes consistent with applicable Indian law and your local jurisdiction's laws
• Not using automated scripts, bots, or crawlers to stress-test or abuse the service in a way that degrades performance for other users
• Not attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, or replicate the tools in a way that violates applicable intellectual property law
• Not using the site to generate, process, or distribute illegal content of any kind

4. Intellectual Property

The tools, design, code, written content, and branding of OurTools.in are the intellectual property of Akash unless otherwise noted. You may use the tools freely for personal and commercial projects — the output of any tool (your compressed PDF, your resized image, etc.) belongs entirely to you.

The site incorporates open-source libraries (pdf-lib, FFmpeg.wasm, and others), each governed by their respective licenses. The OurTools.in brand name, logo, and original code are not open-source and may not be replicated or used commercially without written permission.

5. User-Generated Content

The Community Requests page allows users to submit tool requests and comments. By submitting content to this page, you grant OurTools.in a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and moderate that content on the site.

You are responsible for the content you submit. Do not submit personal information, confidential data, or content that infringes on third-party rights. We reserve the right to remove any submitted content that violates these terms or is otherwise inappropriate.

6. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use OurTools.in to:

• Process, generate, or distribute malware, viruses, or any malicious code
• Create or distribute content that infringes on copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights
• Engage in harassment, abuse, or hate speech via the community features
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the site
• Send spam or unsolicited communications using any tool or feature on the site
• Impersonate any person or entity, including the site operator
• Collect or harvest personal data about other users through any tool on the site
• Use the site in any way that violates the Information Technology Act, 2000 (India) or any other applicable law

7. Service Availability

OurTools.in is a free service operated by one person. We make reasonable efforts to keep the site available and tools functioning correctly, but we do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted access. The site may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, third-party service outages (CDN providers, Firebase, etc.), or circumstances beyond our control.

There is no Service Level Agreement (SLA). If you require guaranteed availability for critical business processes, we recommend using a paid professional service with contractual uptime guarantees.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, OurTools.in and all its tools are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that: the tools will meet your specific requirements; the tools will be error-free or produce results that are always accurate; the site will be available at any particular time; or that any defects in the tools will be corrected.

Calculators (EMI, GST, BMI, astrology, and similar tools) provide results for informational and general reference purposes only. They are not financial, medical, legal, or professional advice. Always verify critical calculations with a qualified professional.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Indian law, Akash and OurTools.in shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of or inability to use the service, including but not limited to:

• Loss of data, documents, or files (including files lost due to a browser crash or failed download)
• Loss of business revenue or profits
• Business interruption or loss of business opportunity
• Errors or inaccuracies in tool output used for important decisions
• Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data by third parties

These limitations apply even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or the service shall not exceed ₹1,000 (one thousand Indian Rupees).

10. Third-Party Services and Links

OurTools.in loads JavaScript libraries from CDN providers including cdn.jsdelivr.net and cdnjs.cloudflare.com. Tool availability may be affected if these CDNs are unavailable. We are not responsible for the uptime, content, or policies of these external services.

The site may link to external websites or services. These links are provided for convenience and do not constitute an endorsement. We have no control over the content, privacy practices, or terms of third-party sites and accept no responsibility for them.

Google AdSense and Google Analytics are third-party services integrated into this site. Their use is governed by Google's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to refuse access to OurTools.in, without notice or liability, to users who violate these terms, abuse the service, attempt to harm other users, or engage in behavior that, in our sole judgment, is harmful to the site or its users.

Since no accounts are created, "termination" means blocking access via IP address or other technical means. We will use this right sparingly and only in response to clear abuse.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Any disputes arising from these terms or the use of OurTools.in shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Prayagraj (Allahabad), Uttar Pradesh, India.

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable under applicable law, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service to reflect changes in the service, legal requirements, or business practices. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Continued use of OurTools.in after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

For significant changes, we'll post a notice on the homepage. We recommend checking this page periodically.
